TILTON CEMETERY

 East side of highway 565, ca 1 1/2 miles north of IH 10, Cove, Texas located about 500 ft. off highway marked by wrought iron gate on FM 565 fenced and large tranquil setting.

 

Marble marker at gate: TILTQN CEMETERY This plot was set aside for a fami1y cemetery sometime after 1836 by Charles N. Tilton, the first burial was Michael Chaveno who was a fellow soldier and veteran of the Battle of San Jacinto.  This is recorded in Chambers County Courthouse Vol. 286
